Well, we are safely here in beautiful Breckenridge, CO.
Well, we are safely here in beautiful Breckenridge, CO.
We went to the Coors brewery in Golden, CO for the FREE tour and tasting. It was a wonderful time.
Some of the beautiful copper kettles brewing some wonderful nectar.
This is the WORLD'S LARGEST brewing room! Each of the kettles holds enough beer for 16,700 6-packs of deliciousness.
A true American hero right here, folks.
Coors Banquet and Keystone Light travel side by side here in the packaging plant.
Amazing machines. Beautiful (from my engineering perspective...) Packing a 24 pack every 2 seconds.
Descending into the tasting room. YES!
Cheers!
Displaying our good looks and the size of the copper brew kettles.
Meet Brad. He's in charge of the party bus shuttle security. Standing here, the odor of the Hopps was absolutely breathtaking. I said "Now this is what America smells like!" He heartily agreed.
Some of our fellow tour friends, excited after the tour!
The drive from Denver here was quite beautiful, but the poor Envoy (and every other car on the road) sure struggled as the oxygen disappeared as we ascended above 10,000 feet. Our 21.9 MPG average for the first 1,000 miles dropped down to 18.6 MPG in just 50 miles.......... Oh well!
Hitting the road to Breckenridge, with our new Coors hats proudly displayed.
Mountain roads.
Zooooooooommmmm!
Seconds after snapping this picture, Eric was blinded by the sun.
Ascending from 5,280 feet to over TEN THOUSAND feet does wonders on a bag of Doritos.
Setting up the tent in our chosen camping location. Since it was dark, we had no idea where we were.
We woke up in the morning to find that it got a little chilly through the course of the night. Thanks to our splendid sleeping bags and supreme body heat, we didn't even know it dipped below 80 degrees.
Eric taking in the scenery in his adequate mountain apparel.
Here's what we woke up to!
Another view of our camping location.
The sun continued to rise, getting closer and closer to bathing us in its glorious warmth once again.
A sequence of the sun peaking over the summits.
Fully lit in all its glorious beauty!
Breckenridge. Here you see Peak 9 (which we climbed two years ago...)
Eric's finger exactly corresponds to the summit which we hiked to, basically from the location he is standing in now. It took us over 5 hours to get there. We are crazy.

Nice photos. Wish I was there to hike too! Have fun.
ReplyDeleteI love the deep blue skies of Breckenridge - brings back good memories from 2 yrs ago.
ReplyDeleteYou know, they brew 10000 bottles of beer a day. I drink 45 off the assembly line, and I'm the jerk.
